File Artwork Standards

Here’s what we recommend to make sure your artwork is print-ready and hassle-free on our end.

  • File format: Use a high-res PDF or Adobe Illustrator file (no Scribus exports).
  • Resolution: Artwork must be at least 300 DPI.
  • Dieline: Keep it at 100% size, on its own layer named “dieline,” built in a spot color.
  • Bleed: Include at least 1/8” of bleed outside the dieline.
  • Safe zone: Leave 1/16” of space inside the dieline for key elements.
  • Fonts: Convert all text to outlines.
  • Links: Make sure all images and files are embedded.
  • Color mode: Set the file up in CMYK.
  • Pantone colors: Clearly call out any Pantone spot colors used.
  • Barcodes: Use live vector barcodes, not placed images.
