Custom Die Cut Labels

Custom die-cut labels are available in a variety of durable materials suitable for different product needs. Paper stock is more commonly used for indoor items and comes in varying thicknesses for flexibility or rigidity. For greater durability, polypropylene and high-quality vinyl are good choices; polypropylene resists moisture and oil, ideal for consumables, while vinyl withstands harsh handling and extreme weather, perfect for outdoor applications.

To enhance the visual appeal and longevity of labels, different finishes and coatings can be applied. Gloss finishes make colors pop and attract attention, suitable for consumer goods, whereas a matte or satin finish provides a sophisticated look for upscale products. Additionally, coatings can protect labels from UV damage, moisture, and wear.

Die-cut labels come in a wide range of size options, allowing for both standard and custom sizes to fit each specific product’s needs. Common sizes range from small, detailed labels such as 1″ x 2″ for cosmetic products or small food items, to larger sizes like 5″ x 8″ for electronics or household goods. We see sizes ranging from as small as 0.05″ to as large as 28″. The market may drive standards but your custom options at Blue Label are limitless. The flexibility to create custom shapes and sizes means that even more specific dimensions, such as thin, elongated labels for tubes or large, contour-cut labels for container lids, are achievable.

Die-cut labels can be equipped with various types of adhesives depending on the product surface and expected environment. Choosing the right adhesive helps ensure that the label remains intact and adheres correctly throughout the application process.

Permanent adhesive is a popular choice, offering strong, long-lasting adhesion suitable for a variety of products, particularly those exposed to harsh conditions or requiring a durable label solution.

Removable or repositionable adhesives are available for applications where the label might need to be adjusted or removed cleanly, such as promotional materials or temporary product labels.

Die-cut and kiss-cut labels differ primarily in their cutting process and presentation. Die-cut labels are cut through both the sticker material and the backing, creating a label shaped precisely to the design with no excess material around the edges. Die-cut labels are more ideal for prominent branding and designs where shape is critical.

Kiss-cut labels are cut only through the label layer, leaving the backing intact, which allows for easier peeling and can accommodate more intricate designs or additional printed information on the backing. They’re more suitable for detailed graphics and user-friendly applications.

This allows you to review your label, confirming details like positioning, color accuracy, text legibility, and more, prior to full production. Our printers are capable of matching up to 97% of the full color spectrum, allowing us to achieve precise color reproduction for your beer labels. We use advanced CMYK printing to produce an extensive gamut of colors. For designs requiring an expanded range, we also print using WOVG ink sets which add white, orange, violet and green.
